I’ve been in love with photography since I can remember. When I was young, my grandpa gave me one of his 35mm cameras. I photographed what I came across in the fields of South Dakota and delighted in its appearance in the darkroom that I created in my home. Light is my obsession and biggest inspiration. It brings beauty to everyday life. A splash of light on my bedroom wall or refraction from a glass of water delights me. I love this way of seeing because it shows me the magic that’s all around us that most people don’t notice. 

Ten years ago, my best friend asked me to shoot her wedding. Tearing up as I was processing the photographs, I was incredibly moved seeing the love those two had for each other. The profound impact of wedding photography struck me, and I fell in love with it. The fast pace, emotion and authenticity speaks to everything I find meaningful. Taking family photos came naturally and I absolutely adore working with families and children.

I also work with small businesses as well to create a story for their brands and have worked as a commercial photographer for a wide range of clients that have included Disney and Google. I’m active in the fine art community, showing my personal work in galleries and online. Exploring different avenues of photography keeps my eye fresh and my passion alive. Whether I’m working with a couple, family or brand I bring my years of experience and artistic vision to bring their story to life.

I currently live in Pasadena with my partner, our toddler and our pup. If I’m not shooting, I’m probably doing one of my favorite things like playing with my son, exploring in nature, soaking at the Korean spa, getting in a good laugh with my girlfriends or whipping up a delicious dessert.
